Chairman Robert Timothy “Tim” Lea

Robert Timothy “Tim” Lea is currently serving his second term on the Board of Commissioners and was elected in December 2009 to serve a one year as the Chairman. Tim is a native of Moore County, a product of the Moore County Schools, a graduate of Sandhills Community College and he attended East Carolina University. He is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Healthcare Systems Consulting, Inc. He has had a wide range of business experience and believes in managing by consensus building. Tim served his country as a United States Marine and was honorably discharged. He and his wife, Laine, live on the farm where Tim grew up and raise Black Angus Cattle. They are members of the Culdee Presbyterian Church in Eastwood.
Tim Lea has been extensively involved in local community service projects and civic organizations since 1993 and has served in many leadership capacities including Chairman of the Community Superintendent Search Committee, President of The Public Education Foundation of Moore County, Inc., Co-chairman of the Community Technology Committee, Chairman of the Moore County Planning Board, Chairman of the County Land Use Plan Steering Committee and Vice Chairman of the Sandhills Community College Board of Trustees. Additionally, Tim is a member of the Moore County Chamber of Commerce, has served on the Sandhills Community College Foundation Board of Directors, the Moore County Board of Health and the North Carolina Association of Community College Trustees Executive Board.
In his capacity as County Commissioner, Tim Lea currently serves on the Triangle J Council of Governments Board, Moore County Partners in Progress Board, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), Research Triangle Regional Partnership Board and the Aging Advisory Council.

Jimmy Melton is currently serving his first term on the Board of Commissioners. He is an active member of the Child Fatality Team, Criminal Justice Partnership Program Advisory Board, Transportation Advisory Board, the Pet Responsibility Committee, as well as the Presidential Board and Board of Trustees for Campbell University. He served as the Chair of the Planning Board for four years as well as a Planning Board member. He is a self employed business owner in Moore County for over forty years.
