Moore County Animal Operations provides temporary shelter for the county’s unwanted and stray companion animals, promotes pet placement programs and education regarding pet responsibility; and enforces state and county animal laws. 


Many animals enter our shelter each year through no fault of their own. The Animal Center adoption program provides these deserving animals with the opportunity for a new life. We're eager to introduce you to a homeless pet that needs you. Our new Adoption/Viewing Hours are Monday-Friday 10:00 am-4:45 pm and Saturday 10:00 am-3:45 pm. We are proud of our sparkling clean shelter and encourage all citizens of Moore County to visit.  View a partial list of available pets at the following links:
