Effective May 1, 2011, Moore County Public Utilities will no longer accept credit card payments. Debit card payments will only be accepted in person at the Public Utilities Office. Customers will have the option to make payments online or via a toll free number. Additional information will be available on May 1st. We will continue to offer bank draft as an option for payment. The Utilities Division supplies water and sewer to approximately 12,000 residential and business customers. Service areas include Seven Lakes, Hyland Hills/Niagara, Vass, Pinehurst, Jackson Hamlet, Addor, West End, The Carolina and East Moore Water District.

STAFF INFORMATION
Director: Responsible for the administration and supervision of all duties and personnel assigned to the department.

Administration:  Eight employees complete the duties of customer service, which answers billing questions, prepares meter readings for direct mail billing, processes requests for new and terminated service, and distributes work orders, purchasing, personnel, and general administration.

Maintenance:  Twenty five employees, which includes 6 field service, 8 collection system, and 11 distribution system employees, and 1 resource worker. The distribution and collection systems are maintained under the direction of a Maintenance Supervisor and a Field Services Supervisor. These employees are responsible for repair and maintenance of existing water and sewer lines, as well as the installation of new water and sewer lines and taps.

Water Quality: Five employees, which includes 1 Lead Water System Operator and 4 water system operators. Water quality of all systems is insured under the direction of the Water Quality Supervisor. These employees are responsible for monitoring quality, and insuring that the water supplied meets all federal and state requirements.
