Senior Center Activities

Senior Center Activities

There are a number of activities available at the Senior Enrichment Center (SEC) to enrich, increase socialization, and to add fun to the lives of older adults. To participate in these activities you just need to be a Moore County resident age 50+. Each month we publish a newsletter and a calendar that show the activities, programs, and socials that are scheduled at the SEC. The publications are available for free online or by email. They can be mailed to your home for a yearly fee of $5.00. If you would like to subscribe to our mailing list, or email, contact Sue Groves at 910-947-4483.

Recreation Room

The Senior Center houses a multi-purpose recreation room that includes many fun drop in activities for Moore County Seniors. The room is equipped with a two lane walking track, pickleball court, shuffleboard court, corn hole set and table tennis. You can often hear the sounds of laughter and fun floating all throughout the Senior Center from this room! The recreation room is open during the normal operating hours of the Senior Center. However, due to the rigorous nature of the game, and for the safety of all participants, pickleball play is prohibited Tuesday and Thursday evenings after 5pm as well as Saturdays and occasionally during the week when certain classes are being held (those times will be posted in advance in the rec room). Please be mindful that all these physical activities occur in close proximity and many of our participants are frail and/or living with physical impairments, including sight and balance issues. For this reason, we encourage beginner pickleball play; advanced, more serious players will be better served at another location.
