2022 Volleyball Camp

Registration for the 2022 Volleyball Camp with Coach Barbara Foxx is OPEN!!!!

The volleyball camp will focus on individual skills in the morning.  The afternoon session will emphasize combination drills, transition drills, and team play.  Camp participants will receive personal attention to help them develop and improve fundamentals as well as tips to help them become better and more effective team contributors.

 

Upcoming 5th graders to upcoming Seniors as of School Year 2022/2023

 

Camp begins Monday - July 18th - Thursday July 21st, 2022

 

Cost $50 - Morning Session 9am to 12pm

Cost $100 - All Day Session 9am to 5pm (2 hour break from 12pm to 2pm)

***Last camp day is a half day from 9am to 12pm***

Registration begins: Monday - January 3rd, 2022

Online Registration deadline: Friday - July 8th, 2022

Register online on the REGISTRATION TAB, in the office or you can register the first day of camp (Monday July 18th from 8:00 am to 8:45 am)

 

*What to bring: All camp participants will need to bring gym shoes, knee pads, white socks, a t-shirt, towel and a water bottle.*

 

Who is Coach Foxx?  Coach Barbara Foxx and the Pinecrest High School have produced volleyball players who have played at Arizona, Fayetteville State, NC A&T, NC Central, UNC-Charlotte, UNC-Chapel Hill, Lenoir-Rhyne, Shaw University, Pembroke and Wingate.  Coach Foxx has coached at Pinecrest for 38 years and during that time has led or helped lead volleyball team to 15 conference championships, 2 undefeated seasons of 33 games each, 2 state championships and over 726 wins.

Tennis

2022 Summer Tennis Programs

With Union Pines Vikings Coach John Frye

All Tennis Players must be between the ages of 9-18 years old (Age as of June 1st 2022)

Summer Tennis 2022 - $40

  • Intermediates, Advanced & Beginners levels
  • Registration begins:  Monday - April 4th, 2022
  • Deadline: Friday - May 20th, 2022
  • Beginner sessions begin: Saturday - June 11th, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
  • Intermediate and Advanced sessions begin: Saturday - June 11th, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
  • Sessions run through early August 2022
  • Camp will be held at Union Pines High School - 1981 Union Church Rd. Cameron, NC  28326

**SUMMER TENNIS MEETS TWICE A WEEK.  Beginners meet Saturdays and Sundays at 3:00pm.  Intermediate and Advanced meet Saturdays at 9:00am and Mondays at 6:00pm

T-Ball and Coach Pitch Baseball/Softball


5-6 T-Ball (Co-Ed) and
7-8 Coach Pitch Baseball/Softball



Age as of May 1, 2022
** If you have not participated in Moore County Athletics before, Proof of age is required**


Programs:
 

5-6 T-Ball
7-8 Coach Pitch Baseball
7-8 Coach Pitch Softball


Registration Deadline: April 8th, 2022

Cost: $30  ($40 if space available after deadline)

 

** It is the primary goal of these programs to develop good sportsmanship attitudes in all participants**

Practices to begin Middle of May – Coach will call with date & time
Games will begin June 13th, 2022

5-6 T-Ball
Players are introduced to the game of Baseball with priority towards fundamentals and Sportsmanship. Teams use a continuous batting order and every player plays in the field on defense. Games are played using a T-Ball which is a safety baseball.

 

7-8 Coach Pitch Baseball & Softball
Coaches pitch to the players and the players are taught fundamentals and sportsmanship. Teams use a continuous batting order, play six infielders and five outfielders on defense.

 

Bat Rule: any 2 1/4 inch barrel bat may be used in these leagues.

Cheerleading

Youth Cheerleading

Cheerleading 2021-2022

Ages 5-8 ( as of Oct 16th, 2019)

Registration: $30  (Includes tshirt and pompoms

Registrations Opens: October 8, 2021

**Limitied participation (30 spots available)**

Cheerleading meets Tuesdays 6-7 pm.  Occasional Wednesday nights based on scheduling needs.

All meets will be held at the Moore County Sports Complex - 155 Hillcrest Park Lane Carthage, NC 28327

Meets will be held in the gym or multipurpose room.

Participants will have the opportunity to cheer for select Saturday basketball games.

Meets begin in Tuesday - November 9th, 2021 and run through February 2022.

Instruction will be cheer fundamentals and routines.  Instruction provided by Coach Jennifer Hafer.

 
 

Senior Games in the Pines!


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Participants must turn 50 during the calendar year that the senior games in being played.

38th Annual Local Senior Games in the Pines
Games will be offered in person based on the standards set by the Governor and NCDHHS with hybrid and virtual options available as well.  Extra measures will be taken to ensure everyone's safety; such as social distancing, face masks, and sanitizing equipment.

Registration Dates:

Early Bird: Feb. 5 – March 5; price $10.00

Regular: March 8 – March 26 price $15.00

Moore County Parks and Recreation uses volunteer coaches in Baseball, Softball, Flag Football, Basketball, and Cheerleading. 

 

All coaches are vital to our programs and would not be the same without them!

Referee and Umpire

 

 

Interested in being an umpire or referee for basketball, baseball, softball, or flag football? 

 

Many people forget about how important it is to have a good referee or umpire.  They control the game by making everyone play by the rules.

 

Sound fun and interesting?  You will also get paid between $16.73 and $33.46 per game!  Price depends on age level and sport.
