FALL Soccer

 
 
Ages 5-6 and 7-8 Year Olds Boys and Girls 
Age as of Date August 1st, 2021
 
Cost: $30     ($10 Late Fee if you sign up after Registration Deadline and space is available)
 
 
Registration Deadline:  Monday - July 26th, 2021
 
 
Soccer Orientation Day will be held on Wednesday, August 11th with 2 seperate group times
  • 5-6 Year Old Group A & B will be held @ 5:30pm
  • 7-8 Year Old will be held @ 6:30pm
 
Soccer sessions will be held on:
Saturday, August 14th
Saturday, August 21st
Saturday, August 28th
 
 
Times:  (1) Group A 5-6 Year old 9:30 A.M.
             (2) Group B 5-6 Year old 10:30 A.M.
             (3) 7-8 Year Old 11:30 A.M.
Each Session contains 30 Minutes of instruction and 30 min. of scrimmage.
 
What to wear? Your registration covers the cost of your child a participation shirt. You will get the soccer shirt on the first day.  Players may wear any other clothing for the soccer instruction. Please dress according to the weather. Cleats are not required but Shin Guards are REQUIRED for participation!  Bring your own soccer ball if you would like to!  All ages participating will be using a size 3 soccer ball.
 
Registrations accepted after the late deadline are BASED UPON SPACE AVAILABILITY and WILL NOT receive a T-Shirt.

All Tennis Players must be between the ages of 9-18 years old

 

Summer Tennis 2021  $40

Sessions begin: June 6, 2021 @ 4:00pm runs thru July 2021

Location: Union Pines High School tennis courts

** Sessions may be shortened for younger players if heat is extreme.

Baseball



Baseball 9-12 year old registration is OPEN-- Please sign up online!

Deadline: February 19, 2021

Age as of May 1, 2021

Moore County Parks and Recreation plays Dixie Youth Baseball

Leagues:

9-10 yr old (AAA) uses 60 ft bases and 46 ft pitching

  • No Evaluation League- Community (school) Based Teams

11-12 yr old (O-Zone) uses 70 ft bases and 50 ft pitching

  • Players go through an evaluation and are drafted to teams (all players are placed on a team if they cannot make the evaluation)
  • Players lead off bases in the O-Zone League

**Suggested that all players have their own helmet and bat for COVID-19 safety**

ALL games played at the Moore County Sports Complex on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights (games times: 5:45pm & 7:30pm)

  • No Evaluation League- Community (school) Based Teams

11-12 yr old (Ponytails) uses 60 ft bases and 40 ft pitching

  • Players go through an evaluation and are drafted to teams (all players are placed on a team if they cannot make the evaluation)

13-15 yr old (Belles) 60 ft bases and 43ft pitching

  • Players go through an evaluation and are drafted to teams (all players are placed on a team if they cannot make the evaluation)

**Suggested that all players have their own helmet and bat for COVID-19 safety**

 

**All infielders (including the player-pitcher) MUST wear faceguards in all age groups.**

T-Ball and Coach Pitch Baseball/Softball


5-6 T-Ball (Co-Ed) and

** If you have not participated in Moore County Athletics before, Proof of age is required**

Registration Deadline: April 16th, 2021

Cost: $30  ($40 if space available after deadline)

 

** It is the primary goal of these programs to develop good sportsmanship attitudes in all participants**

Practices to begin Middle of May – Coach will call with date & time
Games will begin June 7th, 2021

5-6 T-Ball
Players are introduced to the game of Baseball with priority towards fundamentals and Sportsmanship. Teams use a continuous batting order and every player plays in the field on defense. Games are played using a T-Ball which is a safety baseball.

7-8 Coach Pitch Baseball & Softball
Coaches pitch to the players and the players are taught fundamentals and sportsmanship. Teams use a continuous batting order, play six infielders and five outfielders on defense.

Bat Rule: any 2 1/4 inch barrel bat may be used in these leagues.

Senior Games in the Pines!


WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Participants must turn 50 during the calendar year that the senior games in being played.

38th Annual Local Senior Games in the Pines
Games will be offered in person based on the standards set by the Governor and NCDHHS with hybrid and virtual options available as well.  Extra measures will be taken to ensure everyone's safety; such as social distancing, face masks, and sanitizing equipment.

Registration Dates:

Early Bird: Feb. 5 – March 5; price $10.00

Regular: March 8 – March 26 price $15.00

Moore County Parks and Recreation uses volunteer coaches in Baseball, Softball, Flag Football, Basketball, and Cheerleading. 

 

All coaches are vital to our programs and would not be the same without them!

Referee and Umpire

 

 

Interested in being an umpire or referee for basketball, baseball, softball, or flag football? 

 

Many people forget about how important it is to have a good referee or umpire.  They control the game by making everyone play by the rules.

 

Sound fun and interesting?  You will also get paid between $16.73 and $33.46 per game!  Price depends on age level and sport.
