Mission

The Mission of Moore County Transportation Services is to provide safe and efficient transportation services for citizens and clients of County agencies.

At this time, MCTS is not accepting:

  • New rider applications for the purposes of employment for shifts ending at 5:00 pm
  • Out-of-County trip requests. Out-of-County trips are expected to resume on 03/27/2023.

Please note that Moore County Transportation Services (MCTS) is NOT affiliated with Moore County Schools or the NC DOT Division of Highways. If you:

Per the State of North Carolina Governor Cooper’s Executive Order No. 121, Moore County Transportation Services will follow and provide transportation services to Token clients per Section 1.3.i. and per Section 1.3.ii. for the following services: obtaining medical supplies or medications, visiting a health care professional, and to obtain necessary supplies such as groceries. Transportation services will also be available for Token clients for employment as outlined under Section 2.C Essential Business and Operations. Token clients must have an application and waiver on file to ride - current fee schedule will apply.  For further information, please contact 910-947-3389.

TOKEN PROGRAM

Moore County Transportation Services provides transportation for Medical, Employment, Education, Prescriptions, and Grocery-related trips for Moore County citizens. To register as a token rider, visit the Application (ROAP) page or call 910-947-3389 and select Option 0 to speak with a Transportation staff member for more information.

In County Trips are $4 dollars each way.

Out of County Trip appointments must be scheduled between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am. MCTS Vans are required to depart by 3:00 pm from all Out of County destinations.

A-PINES Line

As a result of Covid-19, services for the A-PINES Line have been suspended until further notice.

The A-Pines Line is a fixed route in the Southern Pines and Aberdeen area - the fee is $2 each per trip. This service is open to Moore County citizens and visitors.

This route will deviate within one (1) mile from each designated stop upon request.

 

CONTRACT SERVICES

 

Moore County Transportation Services offers contract services. For more information, please contact 910-947-3389 and select Option 0 to speak with a Transportation staff member.


 

 

To Schedule a Trip:

  • All requests for service/reservations must be scheduled at least 48 hours in advance.
Appointment Day Must call by 5:00 pm on this day to schedule

  • MCTS does NOT accept same-day requests for transportation.
  • Please be ready with your name (or the name of the person you are scheduling for); the pickup address; phone number; the date of the appointment; the destination name, address, and phone number; and the time of the appointment.
  • The Dispatcher will then let you know that your reservation with MCTS has been scheduled.
  • Also, be aware that you need to be ready for pickup as early as one and a half hours prior to your appointment time (excluding out of county trips).

To Cancel a Trip: 

  • Cancellations must be received by MCTS dispatch at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled pickup to avoid a No-Show charge.
    • Cancellations messages must be given to the Dispatcher during normal business hours, or a message must be left on the after-hours answering machine.

Good judgment will be used to limit or cancel scheduled trips when hazardous road conditions are present in order to ensure the safety of all passengers and drivers.
