System Pressure Advisory!
The water customers of Moore County Public Utilities - Pinehurst are experiencing periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to water mains that were washed out during high water conditions and flooding events this afternoon. Utilities crews are working to restore pressure and repair the water mains.
This office is strongly urging customers to conserve water when possible.
Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
Vigorous boiling for one (1) minute should kill any disease- causing organisms that may be present in the water.
This advisory is for customers that experienced low pressure and outages in the Lake Pinehurst and No. 7 communities, particularly Sugar Gum Rd.
This advisory remains in effect until further written notification is issued.
