Printed Forms must be mailed to Moore County Register of Deeds P.O. Box 1210 Carthage, NC 28327 (with a check) or brought to the Register of Deeds Office.
The recording fee for an Assumed Name is $26 for the first 15 pages. If the Assumed Name is more than 15 pages, the cost is $4 for each additional page. After recording, our office will return the original document the next business day. Online filing will constitute an additional charge due to convenience and processing fees.

Contact the NC Secretary of State's Office Corporations Division at 919-814-5400 to register.
Before You Register: Check the business name in the grantor index to make sure no one else is using the business name that you have selected. This is located in Vault 1 of the Register of Deeds office or on the Register of Deeds website.
**Note: Effective December 1, 2017, all Assumed Name filings completed prior to 12/1/2017, must file a new Assumed Business Name form (G.S. 66-71.15(a))**
