Mission

Maintain voter registration for the citizens of Moore County, conduct all elections held in Moore County, to include all of its eleven municipalities; assist persons desiring to file for office; administer the Campaign Reporting Act; and ensure the enforcement of all election laws of the State of North Carolina.

REGISTRATION REPAIR

The Registration Repair Project is an effort by the State Board of Elections to collect identification numbers from registered voters who do not have an N.C. driver’s license/DMV ID number or social security number in the state’s voter registration database. These numbers are used to verify that registrants are who they claim to be. Voters who do not have this information in their record may need to cast a provisional ballot and provide this information the next time they vote.

If you are a registered voter here in Moore County, and in need of a PHOTO ID for the upcoming elections, you may come by the Board of Election during regular business hours and we can provide one for you at no charge!

Photo ID Required for Voting

On April 28, 2023, the North Carolina Supreme Court reversed an injunction against implementation of photo ID legislation. As a result, photo ID laws enacted in 2018 and 2019 will be implemented moving forward, starting with the municipal elections in September, October, and November 2023.
